When we were acquired in 2014 by Jack Henry, we were an agile, hungry startup. That hasn’t changed. But our depth of industry knowledge has, as well as our resources and capabilities. By connecting Banno Mobile & Online to the Jack Henry's cores, we help financial institutions bring their users home again.

We’re fintech geeks that long for the way it used to be.

As a child, the local financial institution was a place of wonderment—people gave you candy just for walking in the door, you could watch your piggy bank get counted by a magical machine and they turned paper (checks) into real money. They knew your face, if not your name, and always greeted you with a friendly smile.

As we’ve grown and embraced our digital world, we’ve forgotten how magical that experience truly was—how human it was. There were no emails, or passwords, or fingerprints—rarely even IDs—because they knew your face. They knew you.

We want to bring back that magic and make banking personal again.

We’re not talking about dial-up internet and car phones (we are pretty happy with the internet in our pocket), but we are on a mission to make banking personal again. We’re here to bring back that magic and enable community financial institutions to provide that same world-class service in the new digital landscape.

Our goal is to help financial institutions bring a seamless experience to their users.

The financial industry has been slow to adjust—no one has ever said, “I need to go check my mobile Instagram,” yet ‘online banking’ and ‘mobile banking’ continue to exist as two separate products. We just don’t think that’s good enough.

We believe banking should be seamless.

We also believe it should be relational and contextual, because those things don’t just make for better service, they make for a better bottom line.

Chad runs our engineering efforts. He coordinates the direction and work of the largest engineering group at Jack Henry to deliver products that are reliable and scalable. Chad continues to regularly contribute code across the Banno ecosystem. He ensures that engineering at Banno makes security the top priority and security architecture is woven into every project.
